We are all Happy to see the new roof completed on the Dow Academy!
As the first step in the renovation of the Dow Clock Tower, it not only looks good but will protect the roof from further damage during the winter. The townspeople of Franconia and the Dow Condominium Association shared the expense for this work and deserve Thanks.
Still, the clock sits silent. The bell, striking the hours, has not been heard for several months, nor has the lighting on this well-known icon been visible.
It is our goal now to raise the funds to repair the clock itself, as well as replacing the four clock faces and replacing worn parts of the tower. This will be a costly job.
If anyone is interested in donating to this cause, Please contact the town office at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 823-7752

Franconia Town Hall
Residents, businesses, organizations- anyone in Easton, Sugar Hill or Franconia may select one of twelve trees displayed at the Franconia Notch Chamber Welcome Center at 320 Main Street in Franconia. Trees will be available starting Monday, November 24th. Trees are to be decorated and arranged on the Franconia Town Hall lawn. Lighting can be arranged by contacting Kim Cowles for outlets & extensions. Be sure to get your tree while they last!
Be mindful that decorations will be exposed to various weather conditions as well as birds, squirrels, and other visitors. Be creative, be festive, have fun!
The party will be held from 5:30-7:30 starting with caroling
around the trees, an appearance of Santa and photo opportunities. The party will move inside the Town Hall where cookies and cocoa will be available. An auction will be held to sell the trees to the highest bidders. Trees may be left on the lawn until January 2, 2014 or taken to the business or home of the new owners.
